Sand Maggot Egg:
is a Monster
and an Animal
and a Guest Monster

Sand Maggot Eggs are Animals.

Maggot eggs are laid by Sand Maggots and will hatch multiple Sand Maggot Young if the eggs are not destroyed during the gestation period. It's all or nothing with maggot eggs; an egg that's .1 seconds from hatching 6 young will hatch none of them if it is destroyed in time.

More eggs are laid and more maggots are hatched from each egg on each difficult level. Two young on normal, 4 on Nightmare, and 6 on Hell is the usual increase.

  • All values are listed by difficulty level: Normal / Nightmare / Hell.

Statistics[edit]

Each individual Sand Maggot Young is worth more experience than the egg, so players who are after experience shouldn't hurry to kill the egg, with a much greater reward waiting within.

Offence[edit]

Maggot Eggs have no attacks or offense of any kind, other than their potential to hatch Sand Maggot Young.

Defences[edit]

Maggot eggs often become slightly desynched, and may be impossible for players to hit, especially with ranged weapons. Mercs and minions do not have this trouble, and will usually head right to them.

  • Regen Rate tells what % of a monster's hit points are recovered per second. Standard is 1.2/sec.
  • Blocking tells what % of successful, blockable attacks will not damage the monster. Monsters need not carry a shield to block.
  • Drain Effectiveness tells what % of a character's mana and life steal apply to that monster. 100 is all, 0 is none.
  • Chill Effectiveness tells what % of a character's cold length applies to the monster. 100 is all, 0 is no freeze/chill at all.

Resistances[edit]

Normal Maggot Eggs have no resistances or immunities of any kind. The Guest Monster maggot's egg has some resistances, however.

  • Resistances over 99% are listed as immunities and monsters will take no damage from that type of attack.
  • Immunities can be "broken" by skills that lower resistance, if the value drops below 99%. See the Resistances page for more details.
