[[Image:Npc-chicken3.jpg|frame|left]]The chickens are not just moving decorations though, like the various human NPCs seen in each town in the game. The chickens actually move, flapping their wings and running a few steps when any character walks over one. This amusing AI can be turned into a game, and during the closing days of the ''Diablo II'' Open Beta, bored players started herding chickens out of town and into the wilderness, where the monsters occasionally took a liking to them.
