Misshapen (Tainted)

The Underground Passage is the only path connecting the Stony Field to the Dark Wood. This cave level is also the biggest, and finding the way out can be tricky. The main path will fork into many other paths. One path leads to The Underground Passage Level 2 and the other leads to the entrance to the Dark Wood. Other paths may lead to dead ends or an underground carver camp. Choose wisely.

The Underground Passage marks the first appearance of the Tainted. These lightning orb spitting demons have a bad habit of making their first appearance as a random boss, so characters with low lightning resistance and life should exercise extra care and not recklessly engage in a pack of these.

The Underground Passage and The Hole are the only cave levels which entrance may appear on a cliffside wall (refer to image).

  • Carvers and Carver Shamen do not spawn in level 2.
  • Like the rest of the act 1 cave levels, the layout of level 2 does not change.
