Introduction

Class specific items are much like other items. They have a variety of stats and types, can be found magical, Rare, Unique, and sometimes in Sets as well. The real difference is that these items can only be used by one character class, and they can have random bonuses to individual skills, much like the ones you see on wands/staves/scepters in Diablo II.

Amazons get the widest variety of class-specific equipment. All weapons, but three types, Spears, Javelins, and Bows. During development it was said for a time that Amazons would get gloves, but this didn't work out, and weapons they have. None of these may be gambled or purchased from NPCs, only found from monsters.

• Damage Bonus: This determines how you multiply the item's total physical damage by your stats to reach the actual damage. All bows are 100 Dex, all weapons are 50/50 and most melee weapons are 100 Str. The Amazon spears are not, check the note at the bottom of this page.
• Item Level: Used in many in-game calculations. Monsters must be of this level to drop the item, and it factors in when you get to gamble for this item type as well.
• Weapon Speed: A relative comparison to other weapons of the same type. 0 is the base -10, -20, etc is faster, 10, 20, etc is slower by one frame per 10.
• Stack Size: Applies only to throwing weapons. Min = the smallest stack a monster can drop. Max = the largest a stack can possibly be. Throwing weapons stack only on others of their exact same type and mods, if magical.
• Range: Melee only. From 1 (least) to 5 (most) in D2X. Numbers are fixed across item classes: a 3 javelin = a 3 sword = a 3 hammer, etc.
• Clvl Req: A character must be this level to equip the item. No uniques had Clvl requirements prior to v1.08 Diablo II.
• Gamble: You cannot gamble or buy any Amazon specific weapons, they must be found.

Inherent Bonuses

All Amazon-only bows will have +1-3 to her Bow Skills tab. All Amazon-only spears and javelins will have a + 1-3 bonus to her Spear and Javelin Skill Tab. Odds listed below:

Elite

Elite items can only be found from monsters in Acts 4 and 5 on Nightmare, and then all of Hell difficulty. The Monster must be as high or higher level to drop an item type. These Elite Amazon weapons have lower ilvls and lower Clvl reqs than comparable elite weapons.

* Throwing items are indestructible when used for melee combat in Diablo II. In the Expansion all throwing items have a hidden durability, and when used in melee they lose durability, but at 1/3 the rate of normal weapons. When the durability goes to zero, one item from the stack vanishes.

** All normal spears are 100 Str for the bonus damage. Amazon spears are 70 Str/30 Dex, which means to calculate the bonus damage you take the spear's base damage and .7% per point in Str and .3% per point in Dex. This gives you some damage from Dexterity, but less from Strength than a normal spear, and less damage over all.

Unique

Many unique items have changed in the expansion with the release of the 1.09 Patch. All new unique items found will have the same stats as the ones in the table below, items found in 1.08 may have slightly different stats. Items that have had major changes will marked with a * and their old stats will be listed under the table.

Notes

Lycander's Aim has great modifiers, but lacks the damage you want on a bow for fast killing in hell. Compare the 160ish damage to the 400+ on a Buriza for a high level character. It also lacks any elemental damage, so is hard to kill PIs with.

Titan's Revenge is by far the best weapon in the game for a Javazon. Big bonuses to skills, excellent damage, and a big stack size are all great bonuses.

Lycander's Flank is an excellent spear, though Spearazons aren't real common a class, since they are far weaker than Bowazons or Javazons. The damage is a bit low for use in hell, and there is no elemental damage, but the other mods make up for that to some extent.

None of these items are especially hard to find, but like all Class Specific items (other than Asn claws), they drop at 1/3 the rate of other items, so you'll have more trouble finding them Unique than other items of the same level.
