− | ::::Yeah. You're saying move every individual item to its own page. For instance, runewords might be a good example to take: make an individual page for each runeword and then only allow a certain set of information (like maybe the letters and stats) to be included in other pages, so the alphabetical list of runewords would be pulling from each runeword's pages and an individual runeword page might have the screenshots and what classes it's good for and such. That sort of thing. Anyway, it's midterm time here, so I'll be a bit slow :) I'm hoping you set a watch here, or will remember to check, but I'll be glad to help with this. --[[User:MarauderIIC|MarauderIIC]] 01:21, 1 March 2009 (CET) | + | ::::Yeah. Potions[edit]
Hello MarauderIIC, and welcome to Diablo 2 Wiki! Hope you'll have fun with the rest of us, polishing the wiki. ;) Is this your first edit in a wiki by the way? --Leord 17:18, 16 February 2009 (CET)
- Thanks for the greeting (which is pretty much what everyone else seems to be saying). No, it's not my first edit in a wiki. I used to be quite active on the Guild Wars wiki, and I've changed my share of words on Wikipedia, as well.
Templates[edit]
- I haven't had time to look, but, for instance, on items pages, there's a block of repeated information. Is it templated? MarauderIIC 05:28, 18 February 2009 (CET)
- I see they haven't. Templated all the set items! Feel free to spread the word about/be aware of Template:All Set Notes, Template:Armor Notes, Template:Weapon Notes, Template:Shield Notes, and Template:General Item Notes since you seem to be on top of things around here. :) MarauderIIC 09:01, 18 February 2009 (CET)
- I moved the discussion back here. On wikis I have been, it's usually easier to just have all discussions on the page they originated, and others either have to go there, or request a poke! =D Awfully sorry that I haven't gotten back to you before now, I've had a ton of things to do...
- Either way, I really want anyone here to be feeling truly at home, so the fact that many says thanks for the greet is something I see as a very good thing. If you have GW wiki experience, that is just awesome. I saw about the templates, and will look closer on them in a minute...
- Oooh! That's truly awesome! You do indeed have experience with wikis! Slightly different help pages than I make, but never the less. =D
- Perhaps you and me should discuss how we should organize items in this wiki a bit better. It's very nice with big, cohesive articles for everything, but also having individual articles for named items would be good. In this case I mean that when we're "done" here (haha, I made funny, this will never be "done" ;) ), I'd like items to have:
- One general article, with all listed (all uniques, or at least all uniques of a certain kind)
- One group article (one set, for instance, or "unique swords" etc)
- One individual article, per item. Like X set's gloves get their own article.
- Now, yeah, I know it's a bit of work, but it's mainly just to plough through, and if they are separated, it SHOULD be easier to maintain and navigate. The thing is that we REALLY need to plan this ahead. Naming conventions, layout, info in the articles etc.

- My idea is to have every single item in a template, or we use <nowkiki></nowkiki> on regular articles, so we can pull in info direct from them (you "noinclude" what you don't want to include from a regular article, and you can use a regular article as template, I'll explain better later). Also, adding edit links on each so that they are easily editable from any page.
- With this system, we could also make the group pages etc to just pull in the actual item info, to make a listing article.
- So, do you have ANY idea of what I'm on about? =P --Leord 15:39, 26 February 2009 (CET)
