Monstertype|Demons}} Festering Appendages are Demons.
Baal summons these tentacle-like creatures from the ground, but only during the final battle in the Worldstone Chamber. They lash at nearby targets and deal damage, but are a welcome site to most players, since they can be leeched from at a much better rate than Baal, and often provide full life and mana refills to characters beleaguered by a long and bitter struggle against the Lord of Destruction.
There are two types of Festering Appendages with slightly different stats. However, since they look exactly the same and have the same hover name in the game, there's no way to tell them apart while playing.

* Regen Rate tells what % of a monster's hit points are recovered per second. Standard is 1.2/sec.
* Blocking tells what % of successful, blockable attacks will not damage the monster. Monsters need not carry a shield to block. Most monsters can not block.
Resistances
* Resistances over 99% are listed as immunities and monsters will take no damage from that type of attack.
* <font color="#ff0000">Immunities</font> can be "broken" by skills that lower resistance, if the value drops below 99%. See the Resistances page for more details.
