** Casting a spell from a scroll casts it at the level your character has learned up to (or level 1 if it's not a spell you have read a book for).
** The magic required to read a scroll is always the same no matter your level in that spell.
***The required magic requirement to read a scroll is = to generally about 20% lower than the magical requirement to read the first level 1 book in that spellskill. [[D1_Spellbooks#Mana_Costs_for_Spells|Values listed below]].
* Most spells can be found in charges on items; on staffs and some unique items. Some Hellfire spells can only be found on staffs.
