By now you should have pieced together [[Khalim's Will]] as well, and you can use that to destroy the Compelling Orb. When the orb is smashed, the people of Kurast should slowly regain normality from [[Mephisto]]'s power, and you are able to enter the Durance of Hate, where he resides.
