The Monk was added in the Diablo 1 [[Hellfire]] expansion pack, along with the hidden characters [[Bard]] and [[Barbarian]].He is not considered a "canon" part of the Diablo lore or world history, and is officially unrelated to the Diablo III Monk.[http://diablo.incgamers.com/blog/comments/bashiok-on-the-monk-and-cluttered-visuals/]
The Monk's best weapon is the staff, a design clearly meant to fit him into an unused weapon niche. He is awesome with a fast swinging staff; capable of hitting three targets at once with high to/hit and for considerable damage.
