Kaa is found in one of the false tombs at the very end of [[Act Two]]. He's never in the true tomb, but is instead always in the one large false tomb. (The other 5 false tombs are much smaller.) There's no quest or special reward associated with Kaa, but he's achieved semi-legendary status in the game thanks to the sheer number of mods he can spawn with in Hell, and is sometimes sought by bold players, like a tourist attraction.

Many hardcore players feel his title of "The Soulless" is quite fitting as he is incredibly adept at slaying lower level hardcore characters. His constant modifiers of mana burn, lightning enchanted, and extra strong, make him efficient at killing unsuspecting people in mere seconds. Between the crippling mana burn, huge amounts of charged bolts, often against players with little to no lightning resistance, and his extra strong melee attacks, many unprepared players never stand a chance.

Exacerbating the problem is the fact that hardcore rushes are incredibly dangerous and so tomb runs are often done for hours on end as a means of gaining as many "safe" levels as possible before eventually advancing to Mephisto and Diablo. And there Ancient Kaa always stands in every game, waiting, poised to slay the average unsuspecting character.

=Offense=

Ancient Kaa is always [[Monster_Modifiers#Mana_Burn|Mana Burn]], [[Monster_Modifiers#Extra_Strong|Extra Strong]], and [[Monster_Modifiers#Lightning_Enchanted|Lightning Enchanted]], and he gains 1 random modifier on Nightmare and 2 on Hell. This gives him an impressive 4 mods on Nightmare, and 5 on Hell.

* Unlike most Greater Mummies, Ancient Kaa does not have an unholy bolt ranged attack (though his minions do).
* He has a 25% chance to add poison damage to his melee attack.

=Defenses=

Like many other SuperUniques, Ancient Kaa the Soulless does not regenerate hit points.

* Blocking tells what % of successful, blockable attacks will not damage the monster. Monsters need not carry a shield to block.
* Drain Effectiveness tells what % of a character's mana and life steal apply to that monster. 100 is all, 0 is none.
* Chill Effectiveness tells what % of a character's cold length applies to the monster. 100 is all, 0 is no freeze/chill at all.

=Resistances=

Ancient Kaa can be almost invulnerable on Hell difficulty. If he spawns with Stone Skin and picks up more elemental resistance from Fire Enchanted,Magic Resistance or Spectral Hit, he can be nearly quintuple immune, with only his poison resistance left below 75%.

* Resistances over 99% are listed as immunities and monsters will take no damage from that type of attack.
