The Barracks are an essential part of the Rogue Monastery, and among other things hosts the Horadric Malus and The Smith.

The Smith (v1.09+)

The Barracks is a one level area with "catacombs" tileset. When you continue down, you'll reach the Jail, but don't miss finding The Smith and his Horadric Malus in order to finish the Tools of the Trade quest, and get a free imbue from Charsi.

Finding The Smith is not that difficult for he, along with a group of Devilkins nearby, are found guarding the Horadric Malus. Low-level characters should take extra care for he deals the heaviest physical attack at this point of the game.

Prior to patch 1.09, The Smith has undergone a color change from gold to blue.
