Belts

While belts provide some additional Armor Class, and also potential magical modifiers, their greatest benefit are the additional slots they provide for quick potion access. The player starts out with the minimum four slots, but each new level of belt provides an addition four slots, up to a maximum of sixteen. Magical belts can have very good resistances and bonuses to stats, as well as fastest hit recovery.

• Characters have a 4-slot belt intrinsically.
• Item Level: A monster's Mlvl must be higher than the Ilvl of an item or affix for that monster to drop it.
• Clvl Req: A character must be this level or higher to equip this item.
• All belts take up 2x1 spaces in the Inventory.

Exceptional

Exceptional items are found only in Nightmare and Hell in Diablo II. In the Expansion you'll find them in Act 4 and 5 normal and then in Nightmare and Hell. All Exceptional belts have 16 potion slots.

Elite

Elite Belts are found only in the Expansion. All have 16 slots and very high Clvl requirements. Monsters in Act 5/Nightmare go up to Mlvl 70, so you could theoretically find all but a Colossus Girdle there, but mostly you'll find them in Hell.
