Baal's Minions are Demons and Animals.

  • Demons: Hell Spawn, Greater Hell Spawn.
  • Animals: Enslaved, Slayer, Ice Boar, Fire Boar, Ice Spawn, Greater Ice Spawn.

This page lists all types of Baal's Minions, both regular and Guest Monsters.

  • Guest Monsters: The alternative, higher-stat, Guest Monster varieties of Slayers, Hell Spawn, Fire Boars, and Greater Hell Spawn only appear in Nightmare and Hell difficulty on Act Five.
    • The standard type of Slayers and Greater Hell Spawn spawn only on normal (not on Nightmare or Hell). These monsters are seen on Nightmare and Hell, but only as Guest Monsters, which have different stats and appear in different areas.
  • Greater Ice Spawn are listed in the game stats and on Blizzard's site, but do not appear in the game as of v1.11.

Overseers whip Minions. This can turn a Minion into a Suicide Minion, or it may simply boost the Minion's stats as follows:

  • Healing: 10-20 / 23-35 / 45-55
  • Speed: +80%
  • Attack value: +80%
  • Defense: +50%
  • Damage: +100%

All values are listed by difficulty level: Normal / Nightmare / Hell.

Statistics[edit]

  • The TC/Rune drops listed are the highest Treasure Class/Rune Group a normal monster of that type can drop.
    • Champions and Bosses can sometimes drop from the next higher TC.
    • The max TC/Rune possible may depend on which level a monster spawns in, and can vary slightly from the listed values. See the item calculators to ascertain precisely what a monster from a given area can drop.

A minion's capabilities are boosted considerably when they are enraged by an Overseer. These bonuses include +80% speed, +80% Attack Rating, and +100% damage.

Defences[edit]

A minion's capabilities are boosted considerably when they are enraged by an Overseer. These bonuses include minor healing, and +50% to their defense.

  • Regen Rate tells what % of a monster's hit points are recovered per second. Standard is 1.2/sec.
  • Blocking values are assigned to every monster in the game, but the ability is seldom enabled, so most monsters can not block (Hence the blocking % given on most Diablo II monster pages, including Blizzard's, is inaccurate.) When enabled, blocking tells what % of successful, blockable attacks will not damage the monster. Monsters need not carry a shield to block.
  • Drain Effectiveness tells what % of a character's mana and life steal apply to that monster. 100 is all, 0 is none.
  • Chill Effectiveness tells what % of a character's cold length applies to the monster. 100 is all, 0 is no freeze/chill at all.

Locations[edit]

Minions appear in some areas only as members of the boss pack of an Overseer.

Many act 5 monsters appear in an area only on Normal difficulty, where the monster variety is fixed, not random. (As was the case on all difficulty levels of Act 5 prior to the v1.10 patch.)

  • Guest Monsters are found only in Act Five, and only on Nightmare and Hell difficulty levels.
  • Monsters in areas marked "Boss Only" will only appear as random bosses or champions.
  • Monsters in areas marked "No Boss" will never appear as random bosses or champions.
